Kid and Play

Christopher Reid and Christopher Martin, or Kid and Play respectively, are a rapper/actor duo that has starred in a number of films including Class Act and the House Party series of black films. The movies are very popular among many and in regards to Class Act this was the one that started the duos popularity in Hollywood. The movie Class Act is about a role reversal in which the two stars play as two inner city high school peers in which one is very smart and the other an angry thuggish type of person. When they switch identities they are then forced to live each other’s lives and act as the other acts in everyday situations. Christopher Reed plays the character of Duncan Pinderhughes who is a high school student with the perfect grades but he cannot graduate from high school unless he passes gym which he is reluctant to do. Christopher Martin (Play) plays the thug who is on probation and whose probation officer gives an ultimatum to graduate from high school or get locked up whose name is Brown. In the movie after this point Duncan ends up skulking in the school yard with the trouble makers and Brown ends up in the class for the gifted students of the school.

As the story progresses Kid n Play give a pretty memorable performance in this black film and make the movie humorous through various stunts and love affairs. The two end up becoming friends in the end and as they once could not come into contact without a conflict this is great progress for the both of them. This is a good movie that has a lot of very funny parts in it and a perfect throwback black movie to watch on a date or a get together where you are just sitting at home watching the television.
